Closure

Before entering Effective Internet Research, I was thinking what could I learn about Internet and how boring the class will be. After having this CDS , well I can say most of the times the classes really bored me out but at the same time I really learn something from this CDS. In the past I didn't know that there are actually name like “search directory” and “search engine”, and I used to rely on only one search engine, which is Google. After this one-month experience and learning, I am better in researching, which I feel that it will really benefit me in the future.

Maldives

My dream holiday will be in Maldives. We Singaporean have a very hectic life and if I am going on a holiday, I will love to relax and put everything behind. Well I feel the best place for me to relax will be Maldives. Swimming with the fishes, enjoying of spa and relaxing on the beach can be a really wonder holiday. Reflection on practical 6

Personally I find databases more effective than search engines, as databases provide more relevance results than search engines. Search engines is able provide more results than databases but less relevance results. As for subject directory, I do not like it at all. Subject directory does not have user-friendly features and often unable to produce the results that I wanted.

If I was to choose one databases for my research I will choose Proquest. Proquest might not produce a lot of results for my topic but the results that they have are very useful and updated.

As for my course Moving Images (Animation), I will choose ebook database from the library. Most of the time we animators will be busy in the studio rushing for submission and do not have time to go to the library to look up on books that can help us on our drawing. With ebook, i able to access to the library anytime and anywhere.

Blog Reflections

Activity 3 is quite an easy activity for me. I had been shopping on the net for years and have many experiences shopping online. Even though I have been doing this for years, it still excited me when I was doing the activity. The reason will be... $500!!! With $500, i can buy a lot of expensive things that I had never thought of buying, hence I really enjoy doing activity 3.

Researchers should always know which website can be trusted. For example, most of us like to do our research using Wikipedia, however, the informations on Wikipedia can be change by anyone. Hence, research should always research from different websites can gathering the best result.

An advocacy website want the people's support to bring out a message but shopping website want the people's support by buying their products. Lets take http://www.wwf.sg/ for example, WWF want gain supporters to stop animal abuse. Unlike, http://www.vat19.com/ and http://www.ilovestage.com.sg/ which want to gain supporters for buying their products.

The most meaningful thing that I had learn is always check on the website that you are researching on, if it can be trusted.
